video production durban – edit part 2

video production durban is wrapping final advert sequence as mentioned in the blog before.  Its very important to check the broadcast requirements.

What has become of PAL and NTSC when using MP3 or MOV?  Its a good question.  Please send me a message as to what is happening with the two video formats.   I know videos shot on my Sony NX3 camera are still PAL but I am sure these can be converted to NTSC if need be.

I am not an aurthority on the subject so would love feedback on the subject.

So the edit is done and all broadcast requirements have been checked so now its a case of handing final video over to the client.  Thanks for reading and staying in touch

Send us any requests for subjects you may want info on.

no 1 video production durban TV shoot update

no 1 video production Durban had a fantastic day on Friday.  GCV Productions and Pixel Craft Training teamed up to produce an advert for TV that should be aired in a few weeks time.  Wow what a day we had.

The day began at 8 am collecting the camera man and assistant / actor  from Pixel Craft in Overport, Durban.  We arrived on location at 8:30 am and offloaded all our gear.  The equipment we took for the shoot was the Panasonic GH 5 Camera, Zhiyun Crane, Sony NX3 camera, LED lights and a reflector.  No audio was being recorded…what a relief.  The GH5 camera on the Zhiyun Crane is phenomenal!  We got some amazing shots, well done to Manosh Seetherem from Pixel Craft Training for the incredible shots gathered.  Filming went on throughout the day until 4 pm.  The advert will be 40 seconds and we must have had at least 80 minutes of footage, you can never have too much.  I will upload pictures in the follow up blog.

Now the approach is to edit and make sure the visuals tie up with the voice over already created as well as titles and background music.   We have all those in place so theoretically the edit should be quite straight forward.  The edit already began yesterday with a very rough outline edit.  Timing needs to be worked on and the last closing title.  A final master will be uploaded when complete.

Guys, thats it for now, we need to edit and get a finished product to a customer.

You know the say…Dynamite comes in small packages.   GCV, Durbans no 1 video company is teaming up with PixelCraft Training to shoot and edit this amazing advert.   We have also got some really cool lighting….

These lights are gonna be so much fun.  Always have lights in your shoot, they offer so much creative control of your production.  I cant wait to show you guys the finished product…please be patient while we edit and fine tune the visuals.

The voice over has already been done as well as the titles for the production.  Timing is on 40 seconds which includes quite a long title at the end of the advert for contact details.

Recce of the location has been done but a 2nd one will happen this monday.

While we on the subject…What to look for on a recce visit.

  1.  A recce gives you an idea of the location layout, lighting, whether it be natural daylight or indoor artificial lighting, shadows.
  2.   What areas to shoot and how to get power and lights to those areas eg…are there plugpoints for lights, plugging in camera or monitors?
  3.   Are there noise distractions eg…traffic, sirens, drilling or any noise that might occur from filming.
  4.   Are all areas accessible for filming?  ie a factory might have certain departments not accessible to film crew at certain times such as lunchtime.

Those points above are just a few pointers to look for on a recce.

Please feel free to send any extra info you have regarding recce shoot that we can to our next video blog.
